quick update on Courtney
Yesterday, after a visit to the doctor, Courtney found out that she needed to have a D & C procedure done immediately, so she went straight to the hospital to get ready. For a while, we didn’t think her and Allen were going to be able to make it to the memorial service because of the procedure, but thank God everything worked out where she could leave and go to the service(the word is that sweet Courtney had a few nice, but direct words with the Dr. to make that happen!). Her family brought clothes to the hospital for her to change, they came straight to the memorial service, IV needle still in her arm, and then left right after and went straight back to the hospital. Around 8 pm last night, they took a hungry and thirsty Courtney down to the OR for the procedure. She lost a lot of blood during the procedure, but she is doing much better now. She has been given 3 units of blood and one of plasma, her fever has gone down significantly, and her hemoglobin is up to 9 now. She says that she feels like a different woman now, and that is the cause for a lot of smiles at Palmetto Health Richland.
Although she is doing much better, they are going to keep her in the hospital for a few days for precautionary reasons and observation. Hopefully this time will past fast, because anyone who knows Courtney will tell you that she hates sitting still…I know she is getting tired of watching basketball on TV already! She wanted me to update here and let everyone know that you are welcome to go by and visit her–she is in Room 403. I’m sure she would love to see you!

As a mom of sextuplets (5 in heaven and 1 on earth) born at 22 weeks, I know the intense pain of losing so many children and my heart is broken for Allen and Courtney. I’m praying that they will both find grace and comfort in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Courtney, I have been keeping up with everything through the website. I have been out of town since Thursday so I was not able to make it to the memorial service. You and Allen are on my mind a lot. I am sending you healing, comfort and love.

You have been in my thoughts and prayers every minute of everyday since MP first told me about your going into the hospital. You and Allen have been such an inspiration to thousands of strangers as you have continued to Glorify the Lord. I praise you for lifting Him up even through this troubled time. I was not so gracious when I had my miscarriage. I knew there were reasons and God was in control, but I couldn’t find understanding at the time. As I think about all of this, I think about Jeremiah 29:11 where the Lord declares that He knows the plans for us “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Amen! My heart cries out for you. God bless you!
