The Tipping Family

Redefining Normal

memorial service.

Allen and Courtney have decided to have the memorial service for Jacob, Evan, Joy, David, Jonathan, and Hope on Friday @ 4:00. It will be a simple graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery & Gardens, located at 501 Elmwood Avenue Columbia, SC.

There will be no visitation before or after the memorial service.

The babies names were changed after birth. They all have meaning behind them, but I will let Allen and Courtney describe that for you. Thank you again for your prayers & comforting words.

  1. Courtney and Allen,
I have never had an opportunity to meet you.
I am Courtney’s 2nd cousin, June, in FL. We always referred to your mom as “Other June”, when in fact, I am the “Other June.” She was first! Her Dad and my Mom are siblings. So much for the introduction…
I have been keeping up with the blog only for a few days, since Catherine posted it on Facebook. She is seven months older than my daughter, Angie, who would be your third cousin. I was not aware of the pregnancy, let alone the other issues. Obviously , we don’t keep up with the family as we should.
I cannot begin to express the heartfelt sorrow of what you are going thru. If I we were able to make it up to the memorial, we would do it in a heartbeat. This will be quite emotional for all. If a memorial and/or burial gives “closure” as they say, so be it. One cannot “get over” this…….EVER.
For whatever it’s worth to you hearing it from your cousin…Look to the future and a new beginning for pro-creation. I did it, however it was only one life… not six.
    Love you guys.
    Your Cousin, June

Thanks to Wendy @ Concord Baptist in Anderson, SC I have been able to keep up with everything occuring. Words cannot express how sorrowful I am right now about the latest news. My family is praying for you and your family. After experiencing the loss of a child whether at 6 weeks or 40 weeks you never forget the details nor the emotions. I am not saying I know what you are going through because I don’t. Noone does, every experience is different, as was mine. It is, however, an emotional rollercoater. That I do know. Just know that we are so very sorry for what you and your family are going through right now and we are praying for your healing inside and out. God Bless! Jason & Christie

    Dear family,

I won’t try to find words to comfort as only our Dad in Heaven can do. Know hundreds of strangers you have never met love you and are praying for you. I know at times it may not feel like it but He is there holding you and He will carry you through, He won’t let go. He loves you so. In His hope and steadfast love i pray this little note will find you one day and just be a reminder or some sort of reflection on How much you and your family means to Him.

  4. praying for you guys. i am so, so sorry.

I realize that you do not know me. I was a student of Elizabeth’s at Greenville Tech. You have been in my prayers since I found out you were pregnant, and you and your family are most certainly in them now. Please know how much my heart aches for you. I pray that God brings you comfort and the peace that surpasses understanding.

Courtney and Allen, you truly have shown me what unwavering faith looks and sounds like! I’ve often spoke on the subject of faith, mercy and grace. God allowed you two to manifest what the meaning of each one of those words really mean. As friends, loved ones, strangers, etc. hurt and pray for you, we have to be reminded that God’s a God that knows exactly what He’s doing. You two are showing us how we are suppose to praise God, even in the midst of tragedy and adversity. My faith and praise relationship has deepened through your actions and I am so blessed to have witness such an example of true believers trusting in the same God that I serve. I love you both and continue to stay linked to God!

  12. just another stranger praying for you. i’m so sorry and saddened for your loss.

    Courtney and Allen,

My thoughts and prayers will be with you on Friday when you have the Memorial Service for your six little angels! I know it will be tough, but just remember that they are in Heaven with God and Grandpa Bob now and that one day you shall see them again in that sweet by and by. Stay “STRONG” in the LORD and let him be your STRENGTH and COMFORT in the days that lie ahead. I continue to pray for GOD’s PEACE in your lives. With Love and Sympathy!

I am privileged to know your uncles Bill and Benny. I’ve worked with Bill for years. I just want to encourage you both and let you know that you are an encouragement to others. May the peace of God that surpasses all understanding keep your heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Our prayers continue with you. It is awesome to see your strength and how you have allowed God to be glorified through this situation. Continue strong in the Lord and focused on seeing those precious little ones again. As the scripture says, the Lord will return with a shout and those dead in Him shall rise first then those who remain. Wow! We will spend eternity together with Him. The Lord Bless you and keep you.

My heart is so heavy for the loss your family has suffered. I do know that your sweet babies are rocking with their grandfather now. I will continue to pray for you all with the assurance that the Lord is blessing you all in HIS way. His grace will be a comfort in days and weeks to come as you are healing physically and emotionally. His plan is not always easy to understand but I know that your families’ trust in Him will sustain you all. We will continue to lift you all up in prayer.

I am a student of Elizabeth’s from Greenville Tech. I just wanted to let you guys know that you have been first in my prayers and in my heart for the last couple of weeks. I will continue to pray that God will carry you in His hands through the grief and sadness you are going through, and all that is to come. Stay strong in your love for Him, and for each other.

    Much love,
